Sabrina has to be my favorite diversion. She tolerates all my imperfections and there are several (million). Sabrina and I met in nineteen ninety-seven. We met in a downtown dance club, not long after I stated "I'd never seriously date anyone I met in a club". We had several dates, we count our first date as New Years Eve, nineteen ninety-seven. Sabrina and I lived together for six years and ten months before we got married on October 11th, 2003. We bought our first house, in Plano, in February of 2004. After seven years, I feel we only continue to grow closer and our friendship never goes cold. Sabrina originally hails from New Orleans and attended Texas A&M Commerce as well as the University of North Texas.

Like most of us, I spend much of my day at the grind. It isn't a bad grind really, I work with some outstanding folks who also happen to be quite intelligent. My career is based in IT. My specialty is UNIX and usually Web Applications. I currently work for XO Communications as a "Web Technologist" which is a fancy word for Web Administrator. I do less UNIX here and more WinTel, which is fine by me. More and more I have been tasked with Java applications and several engines to include JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere and Resin and one or two apps running on Tomcat. I like the diversity and ever changing functions of my job. The challenge is also a large reason why this field keeps me entertained, as I am easily bored when things become mundane. I hope to continue in my field for many years.

I do not count home computer workstations in this category because it is useful to my job (My wife would *love* that justification.) Sport bikes and Photography eat up a lot of my time and money these days. I spend a great deal of time riding the sport bike, as well as an XR50 for fun. Most of the warmer season is spent at bike nights, or at road racing tracks for track days. Photography, while still a distraction, has taken a back seat in recent years. I am currently in the process of moving away from film (something I swore I'd never do) toward a completely digital setup. I told myself I would consider it when I could transfer digital images to professional class paper for a decent price. That time has come and the C41 process used on digital now is excellent. Without Sabrina, I would be quite broke. I am "the spender" and she is the sane person who keeps me in check. (Don't get me wrong, she can take out a mall in four hours if she *has* to.) Aside from Photography and Sport bikes, we spend a lot of time working on our house and thinking of ways to do things to the house that we cannot afford to do. Lastly, but certainly not the least important, I spend a lot of time mentoring young adults. Most of these kids come from my church but a few are outside the church world. I could be considered middle-ware (for you geeks) between the kids and ther elders. Mostly, they come to me with your average teenager's questions and concerns about life. I am successful in this because while I am an adult and have adult responsibilities, I still relate to them and in turn they have trust. Simply put, I stay busy.
