Why a Blog?

Why indeed. I've never been too good at keeping a journal, blog, etc. When I was in grade school I was asked to keep a journal for one year exactly. It was splotchy at best. With the advent of the Internet, blogging has taken off considerably. From correspondents in Iraq covering the war to your average sixteen year old kid, everyone seems to have a blog. So everyone is doing it, why can't I? Right? I was never one who conceded to peer pressure. The truth is, it fills space and perhaps might be interesting to someone else.

To the right you will find the current entry, it is also reflected on the front page. Below you will find all the entries I've made (save for any I trimmed out of the database). Enjoy.

Been awhile. As usual. The moon is out tonight, it's lighting up the back yard, again, as usual. I watched it a bit tonight while I rode (I bought a Harley recently, more on that later). It's always bright this time of the year. I remember how it streamed into my bedroom in that apartment on Forest Ln long ago. The moon, it's a good thing, always been there for me when I needed it. Alright then, enough moon. The Harley, yeah, not sure why but I'm enjoying it. I'm caught between selling the race bike and not selling it. Really, I should, for the money thing, but I'll work it out. Going south again this weekend to shoot. Don't really want to, the drive is boring unless you have a distraction (phone, music, etc). I got real sick a couple weeks ago. Passed out and messed myself up pretty bad. I've been to the doctor a lot lately, no fun there but that is life for you. It is funny to look back on these posts and I keep a private journal that is much more up to date, like at least four posts a week. It's like my life history and really, in all the time I've kept it, first on paper, then online in my own blog creation, I've never really sat down and gone through it. I went through the spirals from when I was 17 (when it began) and looked through about age 20, it was neat, I don't pull them out much and the early ones are spotty as I wasn't good at keeping them. Oh well. This entry is long enough. Goodnight.

Mar 24th, 2006 - 12:16pm

Yay. Been busy. On-Call has been quiet, so that has been nice. Finished Madion's site I mentioned last post. It's cute. MSR went ok, I don't have as many orders as I'd like due to failed advertising on the ridesmart end. They are suppossed to send out a newsletter with a link and as of yet have failed to do so. Other then that it's been the usual.

Feb 28th, 2006 - 11:27pm

I'm on call for the month of March starting tomorrow. I'm going to Houstonthis weekend to shoot at the new MSR track down there. Been working with Flash a lot lately. I should have the new dfwphoto.com site up soon and I am working on a site for Madison. Shot two more meets after Missouri which was fun.

Feb 15th, 2006 - 12:59pm

Kansas City wasn't too bad. Cold, but I don't mind the cold too much. I believe all the girls had a good time as this was the first gymnastics meet for several of them. I got a few good pictures.

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to turn dfwphoto.com into my personal photography site and move the portfolios to another domain. I keep going over other names I could use for my business site but I've owned dfwphoto.com for almost five years and I think I already know I want to move into it as my personal business site. Anyway, other that that, just the usual. Work, side work, photography, sport bike... Speaking of, I'll be shooting again for Ridesmart when it starts. A few details to iron out but nothing crazy. MSR is opening a new track in Houston. I've been riding more then usual lately because the weather has been pretty decent.

Feb 10th, 2006 - 11:21pm

Been a month. yay. Sorry. Busy. Sitting in a hotel in Kansas City now. Wonderful place. Crisp outside. Smells funny in my room. That is all.

Jan 11th, 2006 - 9:39am

Woot! One day short of a month since the last post.. This time I'll just blame it on the holidays. (Even though I have no kids and hardly any holiday responsibility..) :) Christmas and New Years went well. We went to Nate and Erin's as usual and rang in the new year. Christmas day was at my Aunt and Uncles and morning at mom's. Sabrina and I once again did not make it to CHristmas morning and opened our gifts to each other on Christmas Eve. Sabrina is working part time at Macy's, seasonal, which comes to an end this week. THe last post had me buying more camera crap for my photo crack habit. This post has me selling two of my consumer lenses and ordering one more professional lens (wide angle) and a Macro lens.. Canon has this great rebate deal going on and I've now maxed it out.. The rebates combined with the sale of the other two lenses had me out of pocket far less then I thought which is nice. Ridesmart will probably start again in March and I'm doing a lot of child portraiture for several families. Madison has her first gymnastics meet in Kansas City in February. I'm flying there to see it and to shoot a few pictures. That should be a good time. Sabrina takes the second part of her realtor exam on the 17th. Mom's house sprung a leak and soaked part of the carpet in her room.. We wet-vac'd most of the water up and the carpet is drying.. And finally, on a sad note.. One of the regulars I ride with died on Christmas Day in a motorcycle accident. "Wade" as he was known to most was killed in Florida. He had recently moved from here to take over a Cycle Gear there. I guess that is about all. Until next... Month? :)

Dec 12th, 2005 - 3:47pm

Woohoo, another near month without an update.. Yeah I'm a slacker.. I did another track day Saturday, not too bad, weather was freezing over night but it ended up being nice.. I broke down and ordered the lens I use for the Ridesmart shoots so I don't have to rent it anymore. It's a large purchase but hopefully it will pay for itself and if not, Ebay is always willing. :) I'm working on a couple of side-work projects for two company website. Both are in PHP/MySql and once includes an online catalog which has introduced me to binary data storage with MySQL, neat. The tree was put up and the studio taken down for December. I believe we are planning on Nate and Erins again for New Years, always a good time.. Mom is feeling better and better which is good. We had an ice storm last week which actually shut down work and schools, rare around here.. Other then that it's the usual.

Nov 17th, 2005 - 9:04am

Nothing special going on.. Catching up. I went around Jessica's mom neighborhood with Jess and Jared's kids to trick or treat.. Mom is home recovering from heart surgery and is actually cleared to go back to work which she sounds happy about. I have work in an up coming art show/sale at Cyndi Long's gallery on saturday, I've been framing and matting work all week. Work is work for the most part.

Oct 30th, 2005 - 9:36pm

Well, my mom went in to have a stint put in her heart just over a week ago.. They got in there and found more of a blockage then they expected.. Tuesday she had a double bypass. The surgeon said she was extremely healthy aside from the blockage and required no blood during surgery, which is nearly un-heard of. She is home as of last night and resting but feels pretty good.

Nate and I shot a wedding on the 48th floor of Elm Place downtown.. The wedding was going to be featured in an episode of "Bridezilla" but thankfully that was called off..

Other then that it's work par usual and sleep when I can. :)

Oct 19th, 2005 - 4:30pm

Yes. More slacking. Sorry! Sabrina and I celebrated our anniversary on the 11th of October. I'm still wading through orders. Man, I haven't updated since the trip! The cabin was great, we all had a good time. We are talking about going back again soon. Mom is having heart stint done tomorrow and so we will be at the hospital. Our hot water heater is wasted. I removed it to the driveway and have a new one in the truck I'll install tonight. Yay, I get to use the TORCH. Mmmmm... I guess that is about it.. Probably forgot a bunch of stuff.. Oh, the bike is repaied, the insurance came through.. I guess I didn't even post about that, some hooters waitress hit it last month.. Oh the Drama..

Sep 28th, 2005 - 12:34pm

Woot.. Yes I'm a blog slacker. Been very busy. I had a lot of orders come through for photography while I was on vacation. Doing that and just generally busy. Sabrina started her new job. yay! I have yet to process most of the New Mexico pics. Jessica's daughter Mindy had her birthday this week and we are going on a camping trip this weekend.. I think after that I am going to just relax and do nothing.. I mean, I have like three episodes of Battlestar Galactica to watch. Lame I know, but I don't watch TV.. Ever.. Except for that.. And usually I watch it the following week.. Anyway, the house needs to be cleaned, I need to go shop for camping food things, I need to finish photo orders.. I need to clean my office and I need to sleep.. I also need to shoot some fresh photo work, do routine maintenance on the bike (brakes are good ya know?) and on the 50 too, come to think of it. I need to fix the skirt on my truck, clean it out.. Blah Blah Blah.. Anyway, enough whining, I'm out!

Sep 12th, 2005 - 8:44pm

another entry via cell phone..... I'm sitting around 10000 feet above sea level on a pull off, on the side of the Sierra Blanca mountains.. I'm over-looking Ruidoso, NM and it is around 50 degrees... The wind blowing through the mountain souns like freeway traffic... We got to Ruidoso this morning after leaving Alamogordo and Whitesands behind.... I have shot a lot of photography and am waiting here for some night shots.. I'll then head back down the mountain... Sabrina and I are going to see some local band at a dive down the road tonight....

Sep 10th, 2005 - 11:42am

live from the passenger seat of my truck via cell phone..... yay vacation.... we are on our way to new mexico, in sweetwater now... we left around 8am... weather is gorgeous for the drive.... more later....

Sep 1st, 2005 - 10:53am

I really want to get in my truck and drive to New Orleans to find something to help with. I have no idea what I would do, perhaps move debris or bodies, etc. I feel connected to New Orleans although I really have no reason to be. My wife is a native of there and she still has friends and family there. THe youth gathering seveal years ago was there and so the images are familiar because of the gathering and the trips Sabrina and I have taken. Canal street under-water, the Super Dome destroyed. They even showed an area called Fat City where Sabrina and I stayed in a B&B several years ago for St. Patricks day. I think what pisses me off the most is now they are reporting, in addition to the looting, that people are shooting at helicopters on rescue runs. What kind of neanderthal idiot shoots at a helicopter trying to evacuate people. I mean, I know the US has some low IQ's but a four year old knows better then that. ON the looting? If you come out of a store with two kids in tow and you are carrying bread, milk, food, etc, then fine, you can't get it any other way right now and you have to survive. You come out of a store with a VCR and a Television, I hope someone puts a bullet in you so you don't use up any more food or air.

Aug 23rd, 2005 - 11:56pm

Figured it was time to post again. I'm planning on shooting at Texas World on the 5th of September. Sabrina and I are taking a vacation to Ruidoso and Alamogordo, New Mexico. I plan on doing some shooting out there as well now that I have the equipment to do better work. I think we will visit White Sands, etc but not Carlsbad Caverns this time.

I left the praise team on Sunday after I was unable to show up. It wasn't fair to the rest so until I can get my schedule under control, this is the best bet. Kelyn, Drew and Victoria are at college now and all made it safe.

Not much else is going on. I've been trying my hand at .NET lately, it's a neat language.

Aug 10th, 2005 - 7:18pm

Rode on Tuesday. It rained like crazy on Monday but missed us at the zoo. Tomorrow is my thirty first birthday. Yay. Sabrina and I are going out for dinner tomorrow and then on Saturday, Jared, Jessica and Sabrina and I are going to go hang out. I think I'm going to be at Texas World again on September 5th to shoot ridesmart, hope it isn't 107 degrees again. Work is work.

Random thought: People who read blogs and dwell on them need a life.

Jul 27th, 2005 - 12:26pm

Erika's memorial went well on Saturday. I spoke for awhile as did many others. Sabrina and I rode on Tuesday night ahead of the storms. I'm going shopping with friends Thursday to get Sabrina gifts for her birthday which is on Friday. Work is work. I have a few photo orders to fill and hopefully Ridesmart will get thier crap together and get the link up so people can order..

Jul 22nd, 2005 - 11:48pm

Yay Friday night. Tomorrow is Erika's memorial. I had a 16x20 of her made for her mom for the memorial.

Tomorrow night I think Jessica and I are going to hang out, they have been on vacation all week in Galveston.

Was a slow week, not too much going on. I'm filling orders and Ridesmart has STILL not gotten the URL for the pictures up. I guess that is fine for now.. I don't know if I mentioned it but I got a copy of the MiniMX Magazine I got published in.. Pretty neat.

Jul 18th, 2005 - 2:21pm

Weekend wasn't too bad. Friday night had me stuck late at work, then dinner with John and Brandi and then went to go pick up the tickets I'm shipping out for Jessica while they are on vacation. The hurricane is in the gulf but not close to Galveston, where they are vacationing. Hope it doesn't shift! Sabrina and I saw movies Saturday, War of the Worlds and Batman Begins. Both were 'ok' but not fantastic. Saw a few previews for movies I'd like to see. We also went shopping in Allen and I saw a girl named Katrisha that I knew in Longview and her husband. I didn't stop them or say hello, but it was odd to run into her after ten or so years. Sunday was church and grass cutting. Yay. I'm going to Erika's tonight to scan images in for her mom and help with a few enlargements. HEr memorial is this coming Saturday. Her mom is doing well considering. Her sister Mandy, which I think is hit hardest is actually doing well too.

Jul 13th, 2005 - 9:11am

Erika passed away this morning. I was able to see her on Monday night and spoke with her parents and aunt. Like most others, I'm happy she is out of the constant pain she was in but of course, no one wanted to see her go. Erika was much too young. We have come so far since the days when my father died of Cancer, but in times like these, we realize how little is really known. Erika's gallery will remain on DFWPhoto and there will be a memorial for her on the site. Her family will hold a memorial next week as Erika did not want a funeral.

Jessica and I saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith last night, it was a good flick. I'm still getting orders in from July 2nd, slower then memorial day but I'm not complaining. My studio stuff came in yesterday but I only got a chance to assemble the background boom. Tonight I'm going to relax, work on the studio, work on pictures and go to Target with me wife! :) I need to get more sleep.

Jul 11th, 2005 - 11:08am

London was bombed last week. It is a testament to how mindless these terrorists are. Think about it.. Bombing London will only make Britain unite more in the war on terror, it makes little sense.. Erika is in her final days, I am going to try and see her tonight. She sent a text message out that she was near the end and to come see her if we could. It is very sad, but she is taking it all very well considering her age and what she will leave behind. Weekend was not too bad, not real busy.. ACT releases at work this week, hopefully with no issues.. Not much else going on..

Jul 6th, 2005 - 10:53am

Rawr! Long weekend was busy. Friday I picked up the lens and shot out at Madison's Gym. I left from there and drove to College station. I got two hours of sleep and woke up at 5am to get ready to shoot for Ridesmart. I shot all day, 2000+ pictures. Sunburned, I drove home around 4pm. Jessica and I went out until late, or early? I then got up and went to church with Jared and had lunch.. Sabrina and I worked on the house most of the day Sunday and then relaxed. Monday was the 4th party and that went over really well. Tuesday I did pictures with Melinda and Mason and that was a good time.. Back at work today to catch up a little. Not a lot going on. We have Cyndi Long's art show that Deflicted put work in for this weekend.. I can't wait until winter.. Winter is slower. :)

Jun 27th, 2005 - 4:46pm

Had a busy weekend and next weekend will be crazy too. YAAAY. Spent Saturday morning at the Arboretum with Sabrina, neat place. We got some good shots out there. The rest of Saturday I spent around the house working on the DVD, playing Battlefield 2 which just came out and relaxing.. Sunday was nuts but a lot of fun.. Late morning had us at a park in Rockwall with Jessica/Jared and Brandi/John and the kids. I shot around 230 pictures out there and we did BBQ.. We went home and I came back out to Rowlett to attend a festival and watch fireworks with everyone.. I'm sunburned. Yay. Mindy came down with a rash, maybe from the park, maybe not and was at the hospital today, she should be ok.

Jun 23rd, 2005 - 12:49pm

It's been a few days.. Work is work.. The photo orders from Memorial day have slowed. I'm sure it will pick up again after the 2nd. I'm about finished with the DVD project.. I just have linking and menus to do. That shouldn't be terrible. We had dinner with Jess and Jared the other night, it was a good time.. Jess hijacked her mom's Spyder and we rode in that. We have been spending a lot of time with them which I've enjoyed a lot.. I wish John and Brandi would come out more often.. I finally got around to doing my little Elfa shelving project in my office. Now I have more space then I know what to do with.. I guess that is it for now..

Jun 16th, 2005 - 11:18am

Yeah yeah, I'm a lazy blogger. Sue me. I've gotten into the video editing phase again.. I go long periods without touching a vid project.. I'm trying to get things off 8mm and archive them, in the process I'm creating DVD's for friends. I have a race shoot on the 2nd, and some after hours work things coming up.. We went out with Jared and JEsica and John/Brandi Tuesday night. That was refreshing, it's not too often we get out at all, let alone with friends I've known for years.

Jun 13th, 2005 - 3:42pm

Almost caught up on pix. The large order came in today and the 20x30 looks great. Had to work a little the last couple of Saturdays so I haven't really gotten much done. We cleaned a lot on Saturday and just relaxed. Battlefield 2 Demo came out and played that, looking pretty good. I'm going to Texas World again on July 2nd and we are suppossed to have the 4th of July party. Other then that, trying to keep the electric bill down with 100 degree weather.

Jun 6th, 2005 - 9:14am

Wow, it's been some time.. We have been busy. The bathroom is done more or less. A few pieces of trim to do but we are using it. I shot out at Texas World on Memorial day which was crazy. I'm filling orders for it now. We put a table and mirror in the emtpy foyer and wired a new light. Other then that we have been catching up on yard work, sleeping and just trying to relax. I was up all night Friday night with a work issue and that sucked rather badly. All is well.

May 25th, 2005 - 8:15am

Another week without a post! After memorial day I need to slow down. Aside from work and releasing another large product for work, I've done several shoots. I shot Dominique's friend's wedding, I shot a little league team, I wrote an online order app for my RideSmart pictures and several other things. We also continue to work on the bathroom. The first coat of paint is up. All we need is the second and the vanity putin which I hope to do this weekend.. We also have Texas World Speedway this weekend.

May 17th, 2005 - 8:38am

Been awhile again.. I've been sick for the last week or so... Aside from that, we still have managed to get more of the bathroom completed. I decided to hald paint the wall around the toilet and then replace the toilet to get that finished. The mud is 99% complete and the new toilet is in. After I put it in, the shut-off valve started leaking as is common in old valves which haven't been used in many years. I replaced it, and went ahead and replaced the two for the sink as well with quarter turn shut off valves. This marked the first time I have had to "sweat copper" and took some tips from John Rooney to make it happen.

I did Chezna's photoshoot which turned out considerably well.

May 9th, 2005 - 4:27pm

Long week... Went to Houston over the weekend for Mike and Laura's wedding, very cool. Bathroom is getting close to having the mud completed.. Studio lights came in and I've been learning a little about them but haven't played as much as I'd like..

May 2nd, 2005 - 10:15pm

Weekend was busy. Friday night I worked on the rabbit hutch. Saturday morning I finished it by 11am. Mom came over and we all worked on the bathroom. Most of the walpaper is off and I have played with the mud texturing which will suck. Sunday I spent most of the day at TMS photographing Ridesmart. I don't think I did too bad for the first time out.. Some examples HERE. The rest of the day was spent resting with a Sunburn. Sabrina also got burned which I haven't seen in some time.. Not a bad weekend..

Apr 26th, 2005 - 8:57am

Wow. Two entries in less than a week? It's a busy week.. Work has been slow lately but home things are busy.. Like I mentioned, the rabbit hutch is coming along.. I roke down last night and installed the ceiling fan. Start to finish, two hours. This included cutting dry-wall, running wire, the works. You can Click Here if you want to see the fan. Sabrina continued to strip wall paper, a thankless job. Hopefully tonight or tommorow I can finish the hutch and give her a hand..

Apr 25th, 2005 - 9:41am

Started working on the rabbit hutch this weekend, it's about half done or so. Since I began without a sketch, plan, etc, it's going slower then it would otherwise. This was Drew's last weekend as the drummer for our church praise service, it went over pretty well I think. Sabrina and I got the vanity, top and sink/hardware for the bathroom project. We have to finish stripping wallpaper, figure out how to texture the wall to try and match the texture on other wall and pick out a paint. I would like to replace the toilet as well but I'm not sure if that will happen. It's Monday and I of course have night work to do. I don't mind it really, but sometimes I wish this company would do what 99.9% of all other companies do, use an outtage window for upgrades.... :)

Apr 18th, 2005 - 10:58am

Eight days! Sorry, busy week. Had the Riding for TAKS deal on Friday which went ok, not what I expected though. I got more sun and Sabrina and I spent a lot of time in the yard clearing leaves and we took out a bush in the front yard.. Cleaned up the back and need to weed and feed. Mom came over on Saturday night and we grilled which was nice and relaxing.. Not much else going on..

Apr 10th, 2005 - 10:14pm

yeah yeah another week... The 50 weekend was insane. The 50 ride, Friday night from Plano to Dallas made it halfway before the cops caught up.. Very interesting night. The stunt competition went well, pics are in the gallery.. Not much else going on.. Work is busy and I did a photoshoot with Nate this afternoon at a cool Manor House in downtown Dallas..

Apr 3rd, 2005 - 11:46pm

Whole week without a post! However, for good reason I suppose (or not). The major deployment went... Is still going.... It's a mess, I was there until 4am Saturday morning and I was the *first* to leave. I had to go back Saturday night but the other guys worked even longer. I did learn to play poker however. The weekend was eventless for the most part, nothing really going on. I didn't go to church today and probably won't next week either. I play every two Sundays now and with recent events surrounding church, I'm not keen on being there. Don't mistake, it isn't faith, etc, it's things surrounding that particular church.. I may check out one near our house next Sunday.. Work gave several of us old Sharp Zaurus hand helds which are based on Linux, pretty neat..

Mar 26th, 2005 - 1:44pm

Yay Saturday. It's pouring rain today. I spent part of last night installing a ceiling fan for Bean's office. This involved cutting the holes in the drywall, running wire and re-wireing her switch and then installing the fan. There have never been ceiling fixtures in any of the rooms except the master bedroom, but I now have the music room and her room finished. Been riding the 50 a lot and actually got the big bike out several times this week. There is a huge 50 run and stunt show coming up as well.

Mar 22nd, 2005 - 10:17am

Been a few days. Sabrina has been very sick since Friday. I have the usual sinus infection. I took her to the doctor yesterday and we both got more antibiotics to help get rid of this crap. Work is work. Nothing much going on. I've been able to ride a little lately and have taken the 50 out a little but most of the weekend was just spent indoors or around the house trying to get over being sick.. Drew, Vic and I did go see Maroon 5 in concert Saturday night but it was lackluster.

Mar 15th, 2005 - 8:44am

The 50 show over the weekend was cool. I got some good pics and a sunburn. The pics are on www.sportbikelife.com/gallery. We did a 50 Run into Dallas Saturday night. Sometime I'll have to explain what that means to the people who read this who don't know. Sabrina and I continue to have sinus issues so we are going to look into findind an ENT Doctor. Work as usual.

Mar 12th, 2005 - 10:18am

I'm sitting here waiting for my truck to dry so I can go to a 50 stunt show up the street. Sabrina and I saw a movie at the Angelika Film Center last night called Downfall. It was nearly three hours long. The film was about Hitler's last days in his bunker and was based on the words of his recently deceased secretary. I've never seen people walk more solemly out of a theatre. You could tell there were WWII war vets there but even the 15 year old kids were walking heads bowed. I recommend to movie to anyone who has an interest in WWII.

Mar 6th, 2005 - 12:01am

Sooo tired. We had the photo scavenger hunt today, much craziness. It began at 8am when Nate and Erin came over and we made breakfast. It ended at 11pm with the gallery showing and judging. It went very well and there should be some pictures in the gallery from it soon. Had dinner with mom, Victoria and Drew last night as well.

Mar 2nd, 2005 - 4:28pm

It's been pretty boring at work this week. The weather has been crappy. I have pretty much been going home, watching Bean play with the bunny and gaming with co-workers. I have been shooting with the camera a little bit but want to do some outdoor things when the weather improves. Sabrina's mom and sister were suppossed to come visit today but have postponed until next week, if at all. Sabrina and I and Nate and Erin are doing a "Photo Scavenger Hunt" Saturday. Should be interesting. We get a list at 9am and have 10 hours to submit the pics for a gallery showing that night.

Feb 28th, 2005 - 9:38am

Weekend is over. It rained all weekend.. We got a bunny! He or she is a Mini-Lop and is Angora. There is a picture here. Nothing else really going on. I'm experimenting with the 20D and have set up an account with DeviantART.

Feb 24th, 2005 - 2:35pm

The bell tolls three and all my crap is running well.. Work has quieted down. This is a catch 22. Less stress more relaxing atmosphere at work versus days fly by, busy as hell. I guess either is fine. My camera came yesterday, I hope to be able to get bnack into photography on a larger scale. If the weather clears up, I'll go downtown this weekend and do some shots. Converting to Digital from Film will require a learning curve, especially in the post-production area.

Feb 19th, 2005 - 10:04pm

Yar, weekend GOOD. Tax return came on Friday. Yay. The weather sucks, so no riding lately. Hopefully Tuesday. Tommorow I have to cook Chili for 100 people. That should prove interesting. I've yet to seperate little bags of spices for each batch since I'm not going to combine them. Other then that, just relax. Off Monday too.. Yay.

Feb 17th, 2005 - 8:35am

It's Thursday and I'm off tommorow. I'ts been busy this week but less annoying. I took tommorow off and we have a long weekend so that will be nice. Drew is coming out tommorow so I can put a radio in his truck and we can go look for drums for the church..

Feb 12th, 2005 - 12:09pm

Yay weekend. I've spent most of it so far, restoring the OrbHosting webserver. Nearly done now minus a few tweaks. Sabrina and I went to dinner with Drew and Victoria and then came home and watched a movie. Nice and relaxing.. I've been peeking in at the infamous Java process that has been beating me down, it looks good. The developer who owns it found a object he forgot to 'destroy' and that may have done it..

Feb 10th, 2005 - 11:55am

Still pretty crazy at work. We had another all day planning meeting today. This one was with our director. Work and sleep as been pretty much it lately. An interesting existance, hmm? :)

Feb 8th, 2005 - 12:00am

Finally believe I have solved a Java error which has plagued me for a week. The server is moved, working on building it's replacement. Nothing much else going on other then work, sleep and the occassional 50 Ride.

Feb 5th, 2005 - 4:26pm

Oh it gets better. This was my busiest week yet at XO. I'm glad it's the weekend so I can relax. Oh wait, no, I can't do that, because a co-located server I have decided it wants to start eating drives. One of my co-workers was nice enough to allow me to put up a Linux VM Ware instance on his co-lo so I can rebuild. Bleh.. Tonight should be fun, going out to a gallery opening with Nate and Erin.

Feb 3rd, 2005 - 12:45am

This is proving to be a busy week at work. Many projects coming down the line. I believe after I launch this site, that I'll slack off on personal projects for awhile. It's nearly 1am on a weekday and here I am de-bugging MySQL issues for my personal site. :) Night...

Feb 1st, 2005 - 11:30am

Past weekend was nice and relaxing. Worked on a couple websites for people. Drew and Victoria came by Saturday night to watch a movie and go to dinner. The weather has been crappy as of late. I hope to be able to ride soon.

Jan 28th, 2005 - 8:13pm

This week was pretty crazy. We had a day long "planning meeting" at work. I had been fighting a Tomcat/Apache issue the last day or so which I resolved, yippie. I ran into an old friend which was cool... Not much else, rather boring this week which is fine by me (see last week). :)

Jan 24th, 2005 - 11:02am

The annual reunion went over well. Some folks didn't show who I expected to be there. There was the usual people avoiding the usual people. Myself and Sabrina tucked ourselves into an area with John and family and Jessica and family which was nice. I was very happy to see them there. Some things haven't changed some have. I'm happy that John and Jessica and thier families remain close friends of ours, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Jan 23rd, 2005 - 3:40pm

Not too much going on this weekend and that is fine with me. Went to church this morning and to lunch with the kids. We have an annual reunion of sorts tonight. Mostly people I hung out with just after highschool. It's a good time. Some people like each other, some, not so much.. There is however, never any drama which is nice. I'd like to keep up with people more.. I stopped by Madison's (Jessica and Jerrod) birthday party on the way home..

Jan 22nd, 2005 - 12:46pm

You will all probably think I'm making this up for the sake of appearance and I don't blame you. Here goes. I got stuck at work until 7pm Friday night. My wife calls and says "Guess what's in our bedroom?" I'm thinking, you know, the usual man thoughts, but alas; "A dead squirrel". Yes folks, exploding toilets and now, dead squirrels. It appears to have come in, freaked out, crapped all over while running around knocking a few things over. We assume it died as a result of something it ate.. I hope this is a boring weekend. :)

Jan 21st, 2005 - 9:31am

Texas is one of the few states where it can be thirty degrees one night and seventy the next. We took the 50 out to Moe's last night (See Diversions) and rode with about thirty other geeks. There were tons of sportbikes, 50's and several cops hanging around but no drama...

Jan 20th, 2005 - 2:49pm

Yesterday continued to be an odd day. When I got home from work and went into the guest bathroom, it looked like someone had dropped a cherry bomb in the toilet. I'm guessing the city put pressure into the sewer lines and caused a "burb" in that toilet. It didn't flood but there were splashes of water everywhere. This kind of crap only happens to me. :)

Jan 19th, 2005 - 1:08pm

Witnessed an odd car accident today at lunch. I was pulling into the alley where my garage backs up and there happened to be someone coming down the drive. While I was waiting for them to pull into a drive so I could pull in a lady going down Alma hit one of the large street signs in the middle of the median. I went to assist her and she seemed ok. The car was totalled, transmission fluid and coolant was all over. She said she looked down to take a bite of her sandwich and that was that. I wonder if McDonald's will add warnings to their burger wrappers now; "Don't eat and drive."..
